The clarifying&nbsp;strapline &#8220;the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music&#8221; was introduced in 2012. More than 650,000 candidates take ABRSM exams each year in over 93 countries.<\/p>\n<p>ABRSM exams are&nbsp;<em>music<\/em>&nbsp;exams rather than instrumental or singing exams.&nbsp;Examiners are assessing the quality of the music-making, not how it is achieved.<\/p>\n<p>To become an all-round musician students need a range of interlocking skills \u2013 in performance, technique, notation, and listening and musical perception \u2013 as well as knowledge, understanding and creativity. These are the things ABRSM assesses in the exams.<\/p>\n<p>ABRSM has designed their&nbsp;graded music exams&nbsp;to motivate instrumental and singing students of all ages and a wide range of abilities. They are available at eight levels \u2013 Grades 1 to 8 \u2013 and provide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>progressive goals to aim for;<\/li>\n<li>recognition for achievement;<\/li>\n<li>carefully structured syllabus requirements;<\/li>\n<li>one-to-one assessment by an expert professional;<\/li>\n<li>an objective guide to a candidate\u2019s skills and progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are no age restrictions and students can start with any grade or skip grades if they want to.<\/p>\n<h2>What is included in the exam?<\/h2>\n<p>To succeed in our exams candidates need a combination of skills and understanding. Broadly, we assess:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>performance&nbsp;skills through pieces or songs;<\/li>\n<li>technical skills&nbsp;through scales and arpeggios;<\/li>\n<li>notation skills&nbsp;through a sight-reading test;<\/li>\n<li>listening skills and musical perception&nbsp;through aural tests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How many marks are available?<\/p>\n<p>Total marks in all individual Practical exams are 150.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>100<\/strong>marks are required to achieve a pass<\/li>\n<li><strong>120<\/strong>marks are required to pass with merit<\/li>\n<li><strong>130<\/strong>marks are \u89c6\u594f\u30024\uff0c\u542c\u89c9\u6d4b\u8bd5\u3002 \u53c2\u52a06\u7ea7\u4ee5\u4e0a\u7684\u672f\u79d1\u9700\u8981\u5148\u901a\u8fc75\u7ea7\u7684\u4e50\u7406\u8003\u8bd5\u3002 \u8003\u8bd5\u5f88\u6ce8\u91cd\u97f3\u4e50\u7684\u5168\u9762\u57f9\u517b\u3002\u5b83\u7684\u8003\u8bd5\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a\u7531\u82f1\u56fd\u5b98\u65b9\u5b89\u6392\uff0c\u8bc4\u59d4\u4e5f\u662f\u82f1\u56fd\u5b98\u65b9\u7edf\u4e00\u59d4\u6d3e\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u4ee5\u94a2\u7434\u4e3a\u4f8b\uff0c\u82f1\u7687\u4e1a\u4f59\u8003\u7ea7\u4e00\u5171\u6709\u516b\u7ea7\u3002\u9664\u4e86\u8981\u5f39\u594f\u89c4\u5b9a\u7684\u4e09\u9996\u66f2\u76ee\uff0c\u8fd8\u4f1a\u8003\u5bdf\u4e50\u7406\u6c34\u5e73\u3001\u542c\u89c9\u6c34\u5e73\u3001\u5bf9\u97f3\u4e50\u7684\u7406\u89e3\u6c34\u5e73\u3001\u5bf9\u97f3\u4e50\u5e38\u8bc6\u7684\u638c\u63e1\u7a0b\u5ea6\u3001\u89c6\u594f\u6c34\u5e73\u7b49\u7b49\u3002\u8fd9\u5728\u5f88\u5927\u7a0b\u5ea6\u4e0a\u4e5f\u662f\u8003\u5bdf\u8001\u5e08\u6559\u5b66\u80fd\u529b\u548c\u7efc\u5408\u6c34\u5e73\u7684\u8bd5\u91d1\u77f3\uff0c\u4e5f\u7ed9\u4e0d\u61c2\u97f3\u4e50\u7684\u5bb6\u957f\u4e00\u4e2a\u9009\u62e9\u8001\u5e08\u7684\u6307\u5357\u3002<\/p>\n<p>ABRSM\u8003\u8bd5\uff0c\u4f7f\u5b66\u751f\u4ece\u4e00\u4e2a\u7cbe\u5fc3\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u8003\u8bd5\u8bfe\u7a0b\u67b6\u6784\u4e2d, \u5f97\u5230\u6e05\u695a\u7684\u76ee\u6807,
